Dr. Jon Smith
Dr. Smith has earned a reputation as being one of the premier cosmetic and restorative dentists in the midlands. His commitment to excellence, and friendly, personal character have made patients feel comfortable and confident in the care they receive.
Dr. Smith attended the University of Arizona where he earned a B.S. in Microbiology and Immunology. He then earned his D.D.S. from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. During his studies at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Smith received advanced training in dental forensics, and he was a key part of the dental forensic team that identified most of the 168 victims of the Alpha P. Murrah federal building bombing disaster. Dr. Smith has continued his forensic studies and frequently aids the Lexington County Coroner’s Office in forensic identification cases. Dr. Smith is the chairman of the South Carolina Dental Association bioterrorism task force.
Since entering into private practice in 1997, Dr. Smith has become passionate about cosmetic dentistry. He has attended numerous continuing education courses in the field and has had the opportunity to learn from, and study with the best that cosmetic dentistry has to offer from across the country. He has made an ongoing commitment to stay at the top of this field and to aid in further advancing it for the benefit of dentistry and the people we serve.
Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Central District Dental Society, the Greater Columbia Dental Association, the American Society of forensic Odontology, the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce, and is a diplomate of the American Board of forensic Dentistry.
